Massage Therapy & Energy work Descriptions
I have a wide variety of massage therapy services available.
On the page below, I have a brief description of each. If I have a more in depth explanation available, there is a link to the corresponding page.
Swedish Massage
A very gentle and relaxing massage. Swedish is the basis of many other types of body work and originated thousands of years ago.
Deep tissue
A massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It's purpose is to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow deep strokes on the contracted areas. The massage either follows or goes across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia.
Sports Massage
A combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue and stretching techniques to help athletes, work-out enthusiasts and runners prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain, or restricted range of motion.
Myofascial Release
A very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into fascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Fascia is the very densely woven covering that interpenetrates every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein as well as all of our internal organs. (I liken it to one long nylon stocking that covers and connects every aspect of our insides. If you loosen one aspect of this covering--it has an effect on the rest of it.
I have a nine session package of this work that I offer, which focuses on one section of your body each week. After the 9 weeks, you feel and move like a new person. Your restrictions have been freed up. Let me know if you would like to experience this. I also incorporate some of this technique into most of my massages. It is a slow stretching of the fascia. Little to no oil is used during this part of the massage.
Quantum Touch Energy Balancing
A very relaxing, comforting and soothing part of the massage. I became certified in Quantum Touch in January 2018. It's great for anyone that has experienced stress, grief, trauma or just someone who feels out of balance. Just as massage therapy offers relief to tight and tense muscles, energy balancing soothes and relaxes. If someone is experiencing a lot of pain, it can be greatly reduced with Quantum Touch. I use it with all my massages. Sometimes a client wants a whole session of it. Otherwise, I always end my massages with it.
Maya Abdominal Massage
In 2001, I became a practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal TherapyTM. This is an external, non-invasive massage on the upper and lower abdomen and back. Clients come for this kind of massage when they have symptoms of; difficult menses, organ prolapse, digestive challenges, post surgical challenges, (including cesarean), fertility problems, adhesions and more.
After going over the client's history and current symptoms, it is determined what procedure to follow to have their health improved and/or restored.
I have worked with many women trying to get pregnant. After receiving the Maya massage therapy, many have been able to become pregnant and have the baby that they wanted to have so badly. They have also had relief from many other symptoms including adhesions, painful periods, organ prolapse, digestive issues and more.

Prenatal and Postpartum Massage
Prenatal massage during pregnancy helps in many ways. These include: relieving pain in sore and tired areas, reducing stress and helping the new mom’s body get prepared for labor. Support is also given for the emotional well being of both the Mom to be and her growing baby.
Postpartum massage is especially beneficial in helping relieve tension caused by the recent birth. It is also quite helpful in reducing stress and instilling a sense of security and well-being into the new Mom. These feelings really help
to settle a woman into her important new role as a Mother.
